Collection and Use of Personal Information

When you visit our Web site you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and Web site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse our Web site. YGRIN and its affiliates may share this personal information with each other and use it consistent with this Privacy Policy. They may also combine it with other information to provide and improve our products, services, content, and advertising. Personal Information that You Provide & How That Information is Used

During the registration process you are required to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address), we give you the opportunity to contact us, connect with your friends, schools, and employers, follow other users and be followed so that you may stay on top of each other’s activities. You will also be able to add a picture of yourself as well as add any projects you are currently working on. In some instances we may collect an Employer ID number to verify tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation or association status. When you personalize your profile and use the features of YGRIN, we will collect any information you voluntarily provide (such as your mailing address so that you may receive alerts for special deals near you, support projects going on in your area, find job openings, see how many ygrin supporters are in your area, and locate non-profit organizations located in your area), and connecting with, for example, your current city, hometown, family, relationships, networks, activities, interests, and places. We may also request optional information to support your use of YGRIN, such as your year of birth, gender and other demographic information. In some cases we may ask for additional information for security reasons or to provide specific services to you. You can also provide personal information about yourself, such as your political and religious views.
Depending on the activity, some of the information we ask you to provide is identified as mandatory and some is identified as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory information for a particular activity that requires it, you will not be permitted to engage in that activity.

Please note that your mailing address will not be publicly available unless you choose to allow other users to see it.

Email Information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. Our goal in these cases is to make your experience with YGRIN more convenient and personal.

Additionally, we use your email address to contact you on behalf of your friends (such as when someone sends you a personal message) or notifications from a social network, We offer tools to help you upload your friends’ addresses so that you can find your friends on YGRIN, and invite your contacts who do not have YGRIN accounts to join. Or other Web site with whom you have registered to receive such notifications. We may use this e-mail address to contact you, for things such as notifications of limited edition shop sales and other related information. You may indicate your preference to stop receiving further promotional communications as further detailed below.

Geo Location Data

We collect your mailing address and latitude/longitude in order to provide you with our services. This information will help us provide you with special deals near you, supporters in your area, and locate non-profit organizations in your area. You may at any time delete your mailing address and no longer allow us to use your geo location data by logging into your account and editing your profile information.

Cookies and other Tracking Technologies

As true of most Web sites, we gather some information automatically and store it in log files. We may automatically collect this information when you visit our Web site. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) an “Internet Protocol Address” or “IP Address” is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. In some cases your IP Address stays the same from browser session to browser session; but if you use a consumer internet access provider, your IP Address probably varies from session to session. For example, we may track your IP Address when you access YGRIN to assist with enhancing website features. We may automatically collect IP addresses, browser type and language, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.

To facilitate and customize your experience with the Web site, we store cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a User’s computer for record keeping purposes which contains non-personal information about that User. We use cookies to save you the time while using the Web site, reminds us who you are by storing your email address and password, so that you do not have to enter it each time you login, and track and target User interests in order to provide customized experience. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

We or our third party tracking utility company employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customer’s personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs to determine whether you have performed a specific action. Clear gifs allow us to measure and improve our understanding of visitor traffic and behavior on our Web site, as well as give us a way to measure our promotions and performance.

Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell, share, rent or trade your personal information with third parties other than as disclosed within this privacy policy.

We may share your information with Restaurants/Businesses/Alliances and Marketing Partners

We provide some products or services jointly with particular restaurants. These are known as Restaurants. We share some of your Personal Information with Restaurants in order to help them provide you with better service and track the value of our program. Sharing this Information will allow a Restaurant to market directly to you should they choose to do so. However, we will only share Personal Information with a Restaurant if you engage in an Identification Activity, and then only to the Restaurant involved in that Identification Activity. For example, if you purchase a promotional certificate for a particular restaurant, we may share your name, email address and city with that restaurant. We may also share your personal information with a Restaurant if you choose to make an online reservation using our Web site. The Restaurant needs this information to complete the reservation and it may contact you regarding the reservation.

We provide some products or services jointly with other retail merchants who offer discounts through us. These are known as Businesses, we may share your personally information with a Business so they can contact you regarding a transaction. Sharing this Information will allow a Business to market directly to you should they choose to do so. However, we will only share personally information with a Business if you engage in an Identification Activity, and then only to the Business involved in that Identification Activity. We use Third Party Advertising Companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. Updating and Correcting Information

If you do not wish to allow users to search for you or your business on the site, you may deactivate your account by contacting us at the information listed above. You may update your privacy settings at any time by logging into your account and selecting the “privacy” tab. Within this section you may choose who is able to view your profile wall and posts, member information, following list and photos.

We encourage you to promptly update your Personal Information if it changes. You may ask to have the information on your account deleted or removed; however, because we keep track of past transactions, you cannot delete information associated with past transactions on the Web site. In addition, it may be impossible for us to completely delete all of your information because we periodically backup information.

At any time you may update who you follow and who follows you. Simply select the “following” or “followers” tab and select “un-follow”.

As a condition of account registration, we require your permission to send you Administrative and Promotional emails. We will send you information regarding your account activity as well as updates about our products and promotional offers. You cannot opt-out of Administrative Emails. “Administrative Emails” relate to a User’s activity on the Web site, and include emails regarding a particular User’s account, requests or inquiries, and purchases of products and services. In contrast to Administrative Emails, however, you do have a choice with respect to Promotional Emails. The Ygrin sites allow users to access Facebook Connect to interact with friends and to share on Facebook through Wall and friends’ News Feeds. If you are already logged into YGrin and Facebook, when you click on “Connect with Facebook” you will be prompted to merge your profiles. If you are already logged into YGrin but not logged into Facebook, when you click on “Connect with Facebook” you will be prompted to enter your Facebook credentials or to “Sign up for Facebook”. By proceeding, you are allowing the YGrin Sites to access your information and you are agreeing to the Facebook Terms of Use in your use of YGrin sites.

Other Disclosures

You may send private messages to other users of the site if you are friends with them. Please be aware of the personal information you choose to share within these messages as that information may be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to share within your private messages with other members.
